Coxsackie viruses, can cause “Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease”, as well as diseases of muscles, lungs, and heart. HFMD usually occurs in children but can also occur in adults.
They are a very contagious group of viruses.
They can be passed from person to person via unwashed hands, surfaces contaminated by faeces and spread when someone sneezes or coughs.
Symptoms of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease generally include Fever, Reduced Appetite, Sore Throat, Feeling Unwell, Painful Mouth Sores (usually start as flat red spots), Rash of flat red spots that may blister on palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and sometimes the knees, elbows, buttocks, and/or genital area.
Use this remedy if you are concerned your child may be exposed - it may assist in preventing your child picking up coxsackie viruses. Use it also if your child has cointracted the virus but please consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve or worsen.
It is advisable to dose the whole family if one member is suspected of having or definitely has this virus.
